CASE STUDIES

Farez Majid

Farez was referred to Hackney Recruitment Partnership by The Community College-Shoreditch last year (2003), as part of the exit programme which they and HRP are working together on.

He completed the LEAP course which was held on the college campus, and very quickly moved on to a voluntary position with Spitalfields City Farm. He works with the larger animals at the farm-pigs, donkeys, goats, cleaning out, feeding and generally ensuring that they are being looked after. He also spends some time in the garden. He is a very valued member of the team at the farm.

HRP has also supported him to take part in the NPTC course in Gardening, which is held at Thrive Gardening Project in Hackney.

We are currently looking at other opportunities for Farez working with animals in a paid capacity, as well as him continuing with his 1 day a week at the farm.
